Do I have to?

That is what I am thinking today. Do I really have to clean up all of the messes I made yesterday? I am looking at the vacuum in the middle of the kitchen, piles of papers on the computer desk, dishes in the sink, toys all over the floor....the list could go on.

I made my first trip to IKEA yesterday. It was fun and overwhelming. I came home with a few items to help me get my crap organized. As of right now I have a few half put together organizational items. I need to make a list and get started on the first thing. I tend to start a lot of projects and not finish them.

O.K. I need to get going. My best friend Tiffany is about to pop out her 5th child and I need to have my house in order so I can help her keep hers in order. Why am I still here typing??????? Because I just can't bear the thought of cleaning up all of these messes!!!!

Alright, I have my itunes playing my running playlist so I can keep moving. Jonah is crying at my feet because he wants to be on the computer. Ready set here I go........

My new van

I gave in to waiting for a color other than silver and now am the owner of another silver minivan. I kept thinking I could keep waiting for another color to come available, but it is hard to not have a car. I borrowed a car from several people on different occassions, but it is much nicer to have your own car.

Now if I lived somewhere else I could have just used public transportation. One day when I needed to go to Dick's market I told my friend Tiffany I could walk there, but the hike back up the hill might not make me very happy. She said can you ride the bus to Dick's? Unfortunatley the bus doesn't have direct routes or any routes from my house to Dick's, Costco, Target or Tiffany's house, and those are the places I go most often.

I do wish I could walk to the local market, I think that would be fun. My Dad and his new wife recently bought a house in downtown Bountiful. Judi is so excited to be able to walk to the library, main street, and my kids are thrilled that they can walk to Iceburg from their house. I love where I live so I won't be too sad when I have to drive to the store today. I am so thrilled to have a car again I might just drive around all day!

Is it still January????

I am thinking I need to blog something today, but what to write about??? I started thinking about what has been going on around here. Well not so much has been happening. I attribute that to the fact that January is still here. January is the longest month, it lasts at least 3 months long. This morning my boys asked what day it was and I had to reply, it is stiiiiilllllll January.

I wonder if I lived in a warm, tropical location if January would last as long. I like winter and I really like looking at the snow. I know I couldn't live somewhere without seasons, but I could live without January.

Well onto my day and onto the last 4 days of January!

I won something!!!

Last night I finished reading the book The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. As I laid the book down I thought to myself, I have to blog about how I got this book so that I don't forget. On Christmas Eve 2008 I received 2 packages from UPS, I was waiting for 2 to arrive in time for Christmas and so I quickly put them in a closet and went on my busy way. I noticed one of the packages was addressed to me and came from Costco. I thought, oh Bryan must have ordered me something. Later that afternoon as Bryan got home from work I told him about the package, he looked at me and said, "I didn't order you anything from Costco" (he actually had, but this was not the package and so therefore doesn't apply to the story). I was busy cooking, but had to go and find out what this package was. I opened it up and see a book, I thought to myself, who sent me a book and didn't put a card in it? I then saw a letter in the book and started laughing. The letter read as follows:

Dear Connection Reader,

On behalf of the staff at The Costco Connection, I would like to thank you for your participation in our book drawing.

Congratulations on winning a copy of last month's book! We hope that you enjoy the book and will continue to look for other contest featured in The Costco Connection.

Sincerely,

Anita Thompson
Editorial Director

I then remembered how I saw a little thing in the magazine about a drawing for a book. Well why not enter it? It certainly paid off and I enjoyed a book I would probably never had read!
