Twins

O.K. my sister had her twins on Monday.  I have been a bit busy with her other 4 kids and running errands for her, that is my excuse for the late post.  Everything went perfect, the whole pregnancy and the delivery.  She went into labor early that morning at 38 weeks, her earliest delivery, I never got that far.  Luckily our bodies are totally different.

Anyways little baby boy came first weighing 6 lbs. even and not as little baby girl came next weighing 6 lbs. 10 oz.  That small size difference is huge in how they look, the girl looks so much bigger.  I call them the girl and the boy, I think their names are Lindsey and possibly Joshua or maybe Luke.  The names could be set, there are just so many other things going on I forget to ask if they have decided for sure.

There they are, all those kids!

And the happy as can be Aunt, I get to hold them and then leave!

She came home from the hospital on Wednesday.  Apparently the first night she and Justin combined got 1/2 hour sleep.  I offered to sleep over last night, but they thought they might survive.

The rest of our family is off to St. George today (not Mexico like we are supposed to be), nice of us to leave huh.  Her in-laws are all here for the week so it works out.  Once I get back we can have hold the babies parties so let me know if you are interested!

24th of July celebrating

What a nice weekend we had, even though it marks the end of summer for me and causes much sadness. ( I know it really isn’t the end, but August is over faster than the rest of the months)

On the 23rd we hiked Elephant rock.  We have headed up the trail several times, but never set out to finish the hike.  This was our day and we had fun.  The downhill was not as fun carrying Jonah and him wanting to walk, very slowly, part of the way down.

The parade which is a tradition was hot and long.  I refuse to camp out overnight or get up in the middle of the night to get a spot so we were on the East side of the street.  Probably our last Bountiful parade.

And then for the main event…..The Murdock’s annual fireworks barbeque.  This is Bryan’s favorite event of the whole year.  Good food, good friends, good times.  He says it is a culmination of summer and that is why he loves it so much.  I of course love every minute spent over at the Murdock’s, they are the best!

Fireworks from our top deck, best view around and we don’t have to park or walk or wait for anything!

Outside

A few posts ago I mentioned that all I want to do in the summer is be outside.  My BFF asked what I meant, like did I sit in the hot sun all day?

So here are a few things I like to do.  First choice of course is swimming

or boating

(probably my favorite picture in a long time)

and then there are the regular things like eating every meal outside, reading in my hammock (dang I don’t have a picture of that), walking outside each time the phone rings, trying to answer emails on my laptop although the connection always cuts out, talking with friends and neighbors outside.  And something that maybe not many people do

Yep laundry, in the summer I always fold my clothes outside.  It makes the task very enjoyable!

Summa time

Finally I have been able to enjoy summer.  No more birthday or baptisms or company to plan for.  Last week was the best and I hope this week will be as well.

Hanging at my BFF’s house for the day and staying for dinner.  We almost had enough time to catch up on everything.  We had to take turns telling stories.  I wish I had a picture of us on her beautiful patio while the kids ran wild.

Swimming at Caitlin’s, so fun.  I love being with her family, they are so calm.

Poor Jonah baby was so tired.

Finally going boating.  I love it, I should live on a lake or the beach would work as well.  We went to Willard Bay for the day and Bethany cooperated by not going into labor so we could stay and play.  (No she was not with us on the boat, or at the lake for that matter)

Super fun day of surfing, knee boarding and Me, Brandon, Jacob and Hailey on the tube for about 2 hours!

Saturday night went to a rockin 50th birthday bash and had a BLAST dancing the night away.

The only thing better would have been if I hadn’t been too tired to sleep out on the trampoline.  (This is from a different week)

Jacob’s Baptism

The final big event of our month long celebration has occurred.  Saturday was Jacob’s baptism.  It is a bit hard to focus on the event when you have a house full of people staying, but we enjoyed the occasion.  Jacob was excited and when I asked him if he was scared he looked at me weird and said No.  He is my child.

It was a packed house at the stake center with 5 other baptisms.  It all went well.  Afterwards with 60 or so people milling around the house and yard eating ice cream sundaes I realized I DIDN’T TAKE ANY PICTURES BEFORE JACOB HAD CHANGED.  No big deal we just took them the next day and no one would know the wiser unless you were there and know that I did not wear that outfit to the baptism!

Cute Jacob who had gotten the tie at a garage sale that day from our dear friends the Bingham’s.  I couldn’t not let him wear it.

Yes, I realize these pictures are in part sun and part shade, I tried to be the boss, but the boys wouldn’t listen.

Another Big Day

It is great to be 8!  Jacob finished the birthday run with his birthday yesterday.  He almost was born on the 4th of July, but luckily he held out an hour and made it on the 5th of July.  He still kind of gets the short end of the stick because it falls so close to the 4th.  We still had a great day of celebrating.

Baseball cake that he got to blow out the candles twice.  Once at home with Ryan here because he really wanted Ryan to be part of it and then again at the water baseball party.

Lucky for me his birthday this year coincided with Tiffany’s 5th annual 4th of July water baseball barbecue.

Seriously the funnest party, you should be jealous if you weren’t there.

Brandon and Jacob fighting it out at home “slip n slide” plate.

Jonah hitting and heading to the bases, well he actually just ran in a circle and laughed.

IMG_1854

Super fun party and super fun day for Jacob.  We tried to end the day at the Bees game, but that didn’t work out so we went bowling.  Came home and did fireworks until everyone crashed from the busy day.  Another great year for Jacob, we all love him so much!

Birthday #4……..done.

Poor Asha

IMG_1661

Totally wiped out after a double header in 98 degree weather.  In the last 8 games he has been hit in the arm 4 times and the leg 2 times.  He also has had the only RBI in 2 games where we got creamed.
