Most Memorable

What a fantastic Memorial Day weekend.  Friday and Saturday we were in Utah County for another baseball tournament.  They played their hearts out and lost one by 1 and then won another.  It was fun, cold, but fun.

Jacob was wiped out by the end, but of course so happy.

The long weekend also meant fort building to sleep in, lots of fun for the boys.

Sunday night we had Nate and Aliska over for dinner.  My Beck boys all then came over to visit and a visit from the Price’s.  I LOVE just sitting back and chatting with people.

Monday morning was picture perfect.  We all slept in….sooooo nice for my sleep deprived body.  The Beck  boys all came over and ate breakfast (not planned) and then we all hung out front playing baseball, basketball and Jeff having a life changing ride on my bike.  It was exactly the way I would have chosen to spend the morning.  I then got Bryan to go running with me, first time ever.

Weeded and planted my garden ALL afternoon.  I have never felt my age until today.  I was so sore and my hips did not want to get up and down anymore!

A nice visit to my Mom and Baby James’ graves.

The boys then decided to go to the Bee’s game, because we don’t have enough baseball in our lives.  I was too worn out and so I stayed home and had a barbeque all by myself……

Just my little hamburger on our new grill.

What an ideal day!

Baseball, Baseball, Baseball

This is our life right now.  Just over a week ago we went to Pocatello for a tournament.  Jacob thought it was so cool that he got to miss school on Friday for baseball.  His team played in 4 games and lost them all, some by a lot!  Jacob is so good natured, it doesn’t bother him past the game.  He had so much fun playing and being with his team mates, that was what mattered.  It was good for me to be there, I had felt on the outs with his comp team and now I know the parents and other players much better.

Jonah spent every game playing catch with whoever would look at him.

IMG_20120512_151936

And playing ball with the team.  He kind of became the mascot, all the kids loved him and they had a great time together.

Four games later, I wondered if those pants would come clean!

IMG_20120512_105550

Brandon and I spent the in between game times running.  We had a lovely tour of Pocatello and some very good races.  He beat me by one half of a step!

Hard work and self control, which I have none of.

Most Important

One of the drawbacks of our crazy baseball life right now is that Jacob and Jonah don’t have a lot of time to play together.  Jonah waits everyday for Jacob to get home, only to find out that he usually has to run off to practice.

Some days, like this morning, there is nothing more important to be done than the two of them playing baseball.

Hallelujah, only a few more weeks of school.

So Cal

Another Ragnar, come and gone.

I flew into  Orange County on Thursday afternoon and drove home with the team on Sunday.  I left Bryan and the boys in charge of the snack shack and all went well.

Me and Whitters ready to run run run.

IMG_20120420_091308

Feeling good before the 5 miles, 108 degree, heat exhaustion run.  I always pride myself on never walking during a race, HA!  This was more stumbling than walking.  Never have I felt anything like it.  Glad I didn’t pass out and get pulled from the course.  Glad I lost control of my body functions, a true athlete.

Had a good nights sleep from 8:30-12:00 on a grassy hill next to a stream.

IMG_20120421_003954

Up and ready for my favorite run every Ragnar.  Middle of the night.  4 miles at 2:00 a.m.  With clear cool air running through my lungs.

IMG_20120421_085704

Another little good night sleep from 5:30-8:00 a.m. on this beautiful patch of grass on a foggy cliff down to the ocean.  I am not kidding when I say I LOVE sleeping somewhere like this.  I was out like there was no tomorrow!  I got almost 7 hours of sleep this Ragnar, the most I have ever had, made the recovery much easier!

Enjoying the warm sidewalk as I geared up for my 11.1 which was really 11.2.

IMG_20120421_134040

Seriously took this pic while running.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

IMG_20120421_135130

Ran next to a Ferrari and Lamborghini car show.  Very cool.

The whole 11 miles was beautiful.  A very intense one mile straight up hill and the rest along Mission bay and San Diego bay.  Along the sidewalks with tourists, next to people on Segway’s, chatting with people in a bicycle pulled cart….kind of wanting to hop in with them.  Wondering the whole time where my team was, after mile 3 I never saw them again.  Luckily I was cheered, high fived, yelled at from a megaphone and bummed water from other teams.

IMG_20120421_144207

Got to the exchange and stood for 20 minutes waiting for my van.  They had missed me at mile 6 and sat and waited.  Did they not realize I was a FAST runner????????  No big deal, just ran 11.2 miles and no one at the end to congratulate me.  I forgave the team quickly.

Pure joy!

More joy and happiness and pizza.

Spring Breaking

We didn’t go anywhere for spring break, just stayed home and enjoyed the relaxing life.  I LOVE going on vacation any chance I can, but I also LOVE staying home with no schedule.  My week was a bit busy due to poor planning on my part, but we still stayed up late, slept in and did lots of fun things.

We had a barbeque with extended cousins we rarely see from California and Pleasant Grove.  We went to the trampoline park, Brandon went twice.  We ran dumb errands.  Played for hours on end with friends.  Played and had a sleepover with cousins.  Went to the Jazz game where the boys got autographs from several star players and I got a thumbs up from one of my very favorite players, Ronnie Price. I even “worked” for my brother and drove elderly clients of his to their homes.  Of course there was also lots of baseball, allergy shots, hair cuts, running(me) and getting ready to run the snack shack at the ball park.

Showing off their Steve Nash autographs (obviously this was before Brandon’s hair cut)
